Dress up your windows & doors

What are the benefits of installing an awning?

Awnings provide shade where you most need it. They ensure a more comfortable living by reducing heat inside your home. But also protect your doors and windows from excessive  heat and rain exposure. Are you concerned about the awning blocking your view?

The good news is that we will purposely design and install our awnings to help maximize the amount of shade you get without blocking your view!

All of our awnings are custom-made to complement your home design and budget. Our team will help you find what best works for you, from choosing the right materials, fabric tones, and metal work, we’ll guide you every step of the way.

How long do awnings typically last and how important is the sewing thread that you use?

The average lifespan of a professionally made awning is between 10-15 years. The secret is in the quality of the thread it is sewn with which will prevent seams from threading. We also recommend that you call us for a professional maintenance visit at least once a year.

Gore Tenara® thread is highly respected for its performance and strength making it ideal, and that’s the type of thread your awning will be sewn with. This thread is solar radiation and mildew-resistant. That means it will be tough enough to withstand all elements and can be easily pressure-washed.

What kind of fabric is used for awnings?

We use Sunbrella® and Tempotest®, the most trusted and popular brands in our industry. Both are 100% acrylic fabrics and offer the best performance results. They have a 10-year life expectancy and can last far beyond that with proper maintenance.

These are some of the benefits of the materials Just 4U Custom Canvas uses:

  • Water-resistant
  • Mildew resistant
  • Choose from hundreds color stripe variations and solid tones
  • 10 Year Warranty

What should I keep in mind before buying an awning?

Awnings are not only meant for shade. They can help prevent furniture from fading. But they also provide other types of protection and prevention, such as moisture protection to avoid damage to your wooden doors, windows, and floors over the years. So, keep in mind there is more to gain in the long run than risking the slow incremental water or sun damage.

What is your manufacturing lead time?

Our turnaround time for traditional awnings falls between 3 and 4 weeks. Depending on material availability, it can be sooner.

Can you design your own one of a kind spear awning?

Yes, in fact we encourage our clients to express all their design concepts and reference any inspiration they have seen before during our initial on – site consultation. During this stage we can recommend what best awning style complements your home  design. From taking a look at your home we can asses what kind of decorative metal, wall brackets, spears, and fabric to use.
